- Rules Backyard Biotropika

BACKYARD BIOTROPIKA is conducted in accordance with the rules of BACKYARD ULTRA:

  • All participants consistently cover the 6706 m long course in less than an hour.
  • After the completion of the next round, the remaining time until the end of the hour is regulated by the competitor himself.
  • The start of each lap is every hour, at 00 minutes sharp.
  • Warning signals are given 3 minutes, 2 minutes and 1 minute before the start.
  • All competitors are required to stay in the start corridor until the start of a new lap.
  • If a competitor fails to start a new lap, he is eliminated from the race (DNF).
  • After the starting signal, all competitors must start moving and leave the starting corridor.
  • Any assistance to a competitor after the starting signal is prohibited, except for assistance from other active runners.
  • Active runners can help each other during the lap, including sharing gear.
  • After leaving the start corridor, the competitor may stop to tie his shoelaces, eat or drink as he goes, put on the clothes he brought with him; if the competitor takes off his clothes, he must carry them until the completion of the lap.
  • You can't leave reservations on the trail.
  • There are cooling zones and a water point set up in the middle of the course, accessible to all participants.
  • The support team can only help in the start/finish area before the start signal. Any assistance on the course from the support team is forbidden.
  • During dark hours (from 21:00 to 05:00) the use of a headlamp is mandatory.
  • The use of mobility aids (including trekking poles) is prohibited.
  • The race is complete in two cases: if the only competitor finishes 1 lap more than all the others, or if no one has started a new lap, in which case there are no winners.
  • Participants can organize their own rest area in a designated area.
  • The cheerleading squad is also allowed to be stationed there.
  • Violation of any of the rules will result in disqualification of the participant.
  • Meals and supplies are the responsibility of the participants themselves.

- What is MEGABUT

MEGABUT

  • The length of 1 lap is 55 km.
  • The maximum number of laps in a race is 3.
  • The participant has the right to choose any distance in the course of the race (55 km, 110 km, 165 km).
  • The total limit of 3 laps (165 km) is 24 hours.
  • The start of the first round is simultaneous for all competitors.
  • The 2nd and 3rd lap can only be entered within the following restrictions:
  • - For the 2nd lap (110 km) participants are allowed no later than 12 hours after the start (12 hours to complete the lap).
  • - For the 3rd lap (165 km) participants are allowed no later than 16 hours after the start (8 hours to complete the lap).
  • After these time cut-offs it is not possible to enter the next laps.
  • Rest is regulated by the participant himself/herself.
  • A competitor may cover the course without resting between laps.
  • The winner is the one who will cover the chosen distance faster, taking into account the rest.
  • Participants who do not meet the limit are considered to have dropped out (DNF).
  • No unauthorized people are allowed on the route.
  • The support team may only position and assist in the start/finish area.
  • A headlamp must be used on the route between 21:00 and 05:00.

By car through Scandinavia.

Drive to the fork to Pervomayskoye. Here you can turn straight to Pervomayskoye or turn to Pervomayskoye after a few kilometers, just after you pass under the viaduct.
In the village of Podgorie turn right to Michurinskoye. You pass Korobitsyno and see that the road descends into the valley.

If you are going to the Upper Park, you don't need to go down, at the crossroads behind Korobitsyno turn right onto the gravel road. Korobitsyno turn right on the gravel road.
Going down into the valley and immediately turning right, you will come to the elevators and ticket offices or to the Lower Park.

By car on Novopriozerskoye highway

After Sosnovo, take the exit to Podgorie. After passing Michurinskoye, you will see slopes on the left.
If going to the ski center or Lower Park, turn left.

If you need to go to the reception of the Upper Park or to the restaurant "Shishka", drive further up and at the first crossroads - turn left on the gravel road. Continue along the resort fence to the reception.

- WHERE TO LIVE

At Park Hotel Golden Valley you can stay in rooms or cottages.

Hotels and cottages are located at the top of the slope (upper park) and at its foot (lower park), in the immediate vicinity of the starting point

Cluster A

If a competitor has official confirmation that he has run 30 or more laps in any of the backyards, a separate cluster - closest to the start - is provided for such competitors.

The other places are distributed according to the classical principle: the one who registered faster - the one who gets the place 3 by 3 m

- AGE RESTRICTIONS
  • Backyard Biotropika from 18 years old - MEGABUT (55km-110km-165km) from 18 years old - Vertical Backyard 6.7km from 18 years old - Biotropika Kids Trail (800m) up to 10 years old (registration not required) Participants aged 8 to 18 years old must provide written permission from parents/guardians to participate in the event and a medical certificate

Each participant must have a valid medical admission from a sports dispensary, which is the basis for admission to participate in running competitions over 10 km or without 3 distance restrictions, or a one-time medical certificate of admission to running competitions. A photocopy of the medical certificate is accepted by the Organizers only upon presentation of the original.

- STARTER PACK

The Competitors must present the following documents when receiving the start number:

  • The original of the participant's identity document.
  • Original medical certificate in the name of the participant with the stamp of the issuing institution, with the signature and stamp of the doctor,
    which must state that the participant is admitted to the Competition.
    The certificate must be valid at the time of the Competition (dated not earlier than 6 months before the date of the Competition).
  • A completed waiver of claims form for the organizers.

In the absence of the documents required for admission to the Competition, the participant is not allowed to take part in the Competition, the starting kit is not issued.

By registering, all competitors agree that the organizers may use, publish, broadcast,
include in publications via the Internet, etc. all photo and video materials with their participation,
which were obtained during the Competition, whether on-site or on the move, without any territorial or temporal restrictions.

- COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT

There is no compulsory equipment on the classic backyard Biotropika.

This is one of the key principles of the Backyard format: everything needed to complete a lap (water, food, clothing, lighting at night) is the responsibility of the participant. The organizers do not check or require a backpack, flashlight, life blanket or anything else when receiving the start pack.

- CATERING OUTLETS

On the Biotropika backyard track there is 1 food station with water, and there is also a cooling zone.

- Safety

No pets of any kind are allowed in the camp (even if leashed). Dogs, cats and other pets are not allowed in the starting camp to avoid conflicts, allergies and hygiene problems.

It is forbidden to build an open fire on the starting field (braziers, bonfires). The prohibition is related to fire safety in the forest area. Only gas stoves in tents are allowed

- How to get into the Hall of Fame

To be inducted into the Biotropika Hall of Fame, you must run 30 or more laps at any of our Biotropika backyard races.

- Photo and video

By registering, everyone automatically agrees that the organizers can use any photos/videos of their participation (on-site, in motion, broadcast) without time and territory restrictions - for promotion, reports, media, etc.

- For children

For children there is a separate Biotropika Kids - 800 meters distance.

Registration is not required .

- ELECTRICITY AND INTERNET

Electricity is not provided by the organizers - there are no sockets in the camp

There is Internet in the glade - mobile communication (MTS/Beeline/Megafon) works well, 4G/LTE in most places.

- SHARED TENT AND STORAGE ROOM

There is no storage room - leave your belongings in your tent, with friends or in your car. The organizers are not responsible for loss.

- PARKING

Parking is available - free, large, on the territory of GC "Golden Valley" and adjacent places.

No shuttle service.

Get to Korobitsyno on your own (car, train to Krasnoselskoe station + cab, buses). Many people go by car and share places in the chat room.
