Media about us: Portal Mounting Race — Bitropika Ultra Trail 2022 results and a new record in Backyard discipline

The format of the Backyard Ultra competition continues to win the hearts of Russian runners. Last weekend, the Biotropika 2022 knockout race took place in the Leningrad Region.

Recall the rules of the Backyard Ultra: there is no set time or distance limit, it’s just a 6.7 km lap that each participant must run for an hour, and then again and again, as many times as they can. If two participants come to the finish line, but no one runs the next round, everyone loses. And all participants, except the winner, receive DFN status. (For your information, on the Biotropika race, on the contrary, there are no losers, each participant becomes a BUT finisher). Also, usually at competitions of this format there is no requirement for the surface of the track (maybe both soil and asphalt) or terrain — there may be a climb, or there may be flat terrain.
After the participant has completed the next round, he can rest until the start of a new round. The start of a new lap is announced every hour. All participants must start at this time. If someone does not have time to reach the previous round or has gone away and cannot start at the same time as everyone else, he is removed from the race.

The Biotropika track ran on a flat dirt road, with almost no climb, which in many ways helped the participants to achieve such high results.

The most enduring was Vasily Korytkin, who we already know from his incredible victory at Valhalla Race 2021 and excellent results at other ultra races. Vasily ran 46 laps, covering 308.2 km. The previous Russian backyard record was 34 laps.
Among women, Irina Masanova showed an amazing result, she ran 45 laps (301 km 77 m), making Vasily a serious competitor.

As part of the race, Biotropika Fest was held — a sports festival with camping, presenters, and an entertainment program for adults and children.
